Welcome to Chan’s BV, a proud family business with a history that dates back more than 50 years to the colorful streets of Suriname. What began as a modest family enterprise has now evolved into one of the foremost suppliers of Surinamese products in the Netherlands.
History
Our journey starts with a secret family recipe: Chan’s Massala (curry powder). Chan and Irene Raghoober, fueled by the knowledge of previous generations and their own creativity, perfected this recipe with seven high-quality spices and herbs. The success of Chan’s Massala was so significant that it laid the foundation for our business in Suriname. Transitioning to the Netherlands, alongside their four sons, Chan’s success continued to flourish. After a few years, Chan’s BV was established in the Netherlands.

Ambition and perseverance run deep in our family, with the eldest son, Winooht, taking the reins. Together with his brother Kishen and son Andy, he continued to build on the success of Chan’s BV. Through hard work and continual improvements, Chan’s BV has achieved success. Winooht and his team expanded the product range and enhanced the quality of labeling and packaging materials. Chan’s Massala has been our most successful product for over 50 years. Since 1972 Chan’s BV has been internationally recognized as a reliable organization. Our strength lies not only in high-quality products but also in excellent service and adherence to the highest standards for food safety.
